Back in 2017 Elon Musk mentioned that Tesla would offer a solar roof as an option on the Tesla Vehicles but later dropped that idea because the problem is that they rarely generate enough power to be worth it.
Now it seems Elon Musk is pushing to have solar panels on tesla vehicles. It is clearly evident when Elon Musk confirmed that Tesla’s new Cybertruck the electric pickup truck will be offered with a solar roof option over the truck’s bed that will be able to add 15 miles of range per day and even indicated fold out solar wings. In this video we are going to see why tesla is pushing to have solar panel option on tesla vehicles and why it may be available sooner than we expect.
After the battery day event, it looks like Tesla’s substantial lead over every other automaker will be wider that before. Reports say that Elon Musk is pushing to have the new battery packs with the new Tesla-made battery cells ready to install in a Model S for the “Battery Investor Day”.
